Indole-3-carbinol (I3C) from Pure Encapsulations, naturally found in vegetables including broccoli, brussels sprouts, bok choy, cauliflower, kale and cabbage. Indole-3-carbinol induces phase I and phase II liver detoxification enzymes and maintains healthy estrogen metabolism. Clinical trials suggest that indole-3-carbinol supports healthy estrogen metabolism by promoting a healthy ratio of weak estrogens (2-hydroxyestrone metabolites or 2-OHE) to strong estrogens (16 alpha-hydroxyestrone metabolites or 16 alpha-OHE) in FAVOR or the WEAK, LESS POTENT estrogens. Furthermore, a placebo- controlled trial indicated that indole-3-carbinol supports cervical cell health as a result of healthy estrogen balance. Take 400-1000 mg/day depending on body weight being careful to ramp slowly. May or may not cause temporary hot flashes. Lactating or pregnant women should NOT take indole-3-carbinol.
